Expression Insurance Personal Data and Privacy Policy
We insure businesses. We hold as little personal data as is practical. We carefully consider and look after any personal data that we do hold.
What personal data do we use?
The most common piece of personal data that we use are email addresses. We only use business email addresses, such as [email protected] or [email protected], the personal element here is the contact name. We only use email addresses that don't directly relate to a business, such as [email protected] if we have explicit consent to do so, for example from a customer.
We also use cookies (when consent is given) to record information about the PC or phone that is being used to visit our website. This will be personal information if the PC or phone is owned personally and not by a business.
Why do we use this data?
We use emails to contact customers and potential customers. We contact customers to provide our service. We contact potential customers in order to introduce them to our company, we do this under the ‘Legitimate Interest’ provision of GDPR as we believe that our service could bring benefits (cost, cover and service) to the businesses we contact and that these potential benefits outweigh the inconvenience of reading the email.
We use the information collected by cookies to personalise web journeys, for example to take a potential customer to a previous quote. We also use this information to build statistics that measure how effective we are, for example how many times does a customer visit our site before they buy cover.
Who do we share the data with?
We only share data with companies that we work with in order to provide our service. These are Berkshire Hathaway International Insurance Ltd (for more information visit http://bhiil.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Berkshire-Hathaway-International-Insurance-Limited-Privacy-Notice.pdf) and Outlier Technology Limited (who help us collect data).
How long will we keep the data for?
We will keep customers' data for as long as they are customers. We will keep the data of businesses that we believe may benefit from working with us, this will be refreshed and reviewed for relevance on a regular basis.
Questions or complaints?
If you have any questions, or would like to complain about our use of data, policy please call us on 01273 071 689 or email [email protected]
